As of January 1, 2001, a new law allows customers of Ohio's investor-owned electric utilities (IOUs) to choose who they want to generate their power. This law is called deregulation.

The subject of deregulation is complex and its impact is even more uncertain. But knowledge is power, and we plan to equip our member-owners with a full arsenal of information.

The competitive marketplace is not developing quickly in Ohio, but stay tuned to this site. We pledge to keep you updated as deregulation unfolds.
