Right to Disconnect

Pioneer reserves the right to discontinue service to any member without notice for the following reasons:

  1. Fraudulent representation as to use of electric service
  2. Any disapproval of member’s equipment or installation because of defects or hazardous conditions
  3. Repairs or emergency operations
  4. Unavoidable shortage or interruption in Pioneer’s source of supply
  5. Whenever such action is necessary to protect the Cooperative from fraud or abuse
  6. Upon cancellation of service contract

Pioneer reserves the right to discontinue service on reasonable notice for the following reasons:

  1. Non-payment of bill or any other indebtedness
  2. Entry to its meter or meters is refused, or if access is obstructed or hazardous
  3. Rules and regulations of the Cooperative are violated.

Disconnection of Service for Non-Payment

If your service was terminated at your location, you may get your service reestablished by bringing your account current. In order to be reconnected on the same day, payment must be received by 3:00 p.m. on the disconnect day. That payment will include any penalty or associated fees, as well as a security deposit if applicable. Payments must be made in person at one of our two offices, by phone or online. Cash, money order, credit or debit card are the only forms of payment accepted.

  • Penalties for payments received after the due dates are now assessed immediately.
  • The late payment penalty is 7% of the total amount due.
  • A notice will be provided to a delinquent member at least 14 days prior to the disconnection.
  • Employees performing service disconnects for nonpayment do not accept any payments in the field.
  • The fees associated with disconnecting a service is $60 and then reconnecting a service is $60 because of nonpayment.

There are no after-hours reconnections for service that has been disconnected for non-payment.

Requesting Disconnection

If you will no longer require service at a location or are moving off of Pioneer lines, please contact our office as soon as possible to arrange to have the service disconnected and a final reading taken. At this time we will ask for a forwarding address to mail your final bill and to keep on file for your capital credits.
