An in-home service to help members identify the location and severity of air infiltration in a home, as well as the location of insufficient insulation. - Requires 2 to 4 hours to complete.
- Member must be present at time of service. It is highly recommended that the home owner who will make the repairs and/or contractor who will make the repairs be present during the audit. Contractors are welcome for learning purposes if the homeowner agrees.
Home profile information requested before field audit. Not a weatherization program – member is responsible for acting upon suggested energy efficiency measures. In general, the suggested improvements may cost between $500 - $5,000 to implement. - There is a waiting list for this service due to high demand. It will be fall or winter before we are able to assist anyone who is not already on the list. Members are encouraged to call 1-800-762-0997 or email to get their name on the list if interested, then read the "Air Sealing" guide provided here for tips on items they can address while waiting for the in-home audit.
- As of January 1, 2012, there is a $99 fee for Pioneer members for this service. This fee may be partially or wholly refundable as part of a pilot weatherization incentive program that will be implemented later in the year.
- If you would like to seek an outside auditing company and pay for their services, there are four companies in our region that offer similar services:
