In addition
to participating with a radio-controlled switch, there are
many ways you can help reduce peak demand:
Pay
close attention to your electric consumption any time
temperatures are extremely coldusually during the
peak hours of 5 to 9 p.m. and 6 to 10 a.m.
Turn
your thermostat down a few degrees in the winter.
Turn off lights in unoccupied rooms.
Delay
a shower or bath for a while.
Cut back on your use of washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers
and as many other appliances as possible during peak hours.
